Pulse

Stop motion video, 2023

The work serves as a reflection of my process of moving from Russia to Thailand. It encapsulates the emotions of losing and rediscovering the concept of home and the quest for tranquility amid the turmoil of change.

This artwork takes the form of a stop-motion animated video, showcasing the ever-changing clay sculpture. It delves into the journey of the mind, evolving from a state of obsession, seeking a sense of belonging within human cultures. It progresses to the point of merging with nature, ultimately realizing that home is both nowhere and everywhere and that one is a minuscule speck in the vast universe.

However, this profound insight is elusive, ebbing and flowing within the mind like a pulse. The overwhelmed mind cannot retain it indefinitely, and so it comes and goes, each return reminiscent of the beat of a heart.
